For Those Who Love the Water

Welcome to Jupiter, Florida

Jupiter offers an amazing quality of life for its residents. Its casual and approachable environment makes it a welcoming place. It is home to the oldest structure in Palm Beach County; the iconic Jupiter Lighthouse with her red brick tower. The lighthouse stands on a natural hill of shell and marine sand about 41k feet. Submerged reefs and sandbars just outside the Jupiter Inlet caused innumerable shipwrecks over the years prior to it's construction. Congress in appropriated the money to erect "a first order lighthouse," in 1853. It was completed in 1859 to mark the reef lying off the Jupiter Inlet and act as an aide to navigation.

Waterways are a major focus of relaxation and entertainment as you enter the Jupiter Inlet in your boat and head towards the Indian River Lagoon to the North or the various forks of the Loxahatchee River to the northwest and southwest. Dining on the water is also a fun part of life here in Jupiter with a variety of outdoor dining establishments across from the Jupiter Lighthouse and elsewhere in the area.

The city, located in the Northern most part of Palm Beach County, has a population of 60,802. The town has a total area of 20 square miles.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Throughout Jupiter, locals have access to a wide range of shopping and dining establishments. From high-end to chill and casual, every kind of experience awaits. I mentioned the fun seafood eateries across from the Jupiter Lighthouse. Harbourside is a fashionable waterfront complex for shopping & dining, with a riverwalk, hotel & ampitheater off of Indiantown Road. Nearby there's another great dining spot with more opportunities to relax outside with an adult beverage at the Dive Bar. Check out Little Moir's Food Shack for excellent chef crafted seafood tucked away in Jupiter Square. My favorite casual location for  is the original Dune Dog Cafe with everything from tasty Chicago style hot dogs to lobster rolls to die for! It's also a great spot to bring the kids.
