Hobe Sound, Florida

Small Village by the Sea with an 'Old Florida' Feel

Welcome to Hobe Sound, Florida

Hobe Sound is a small coastal town located in Martin County, Florida. Its history traces back to the early 20th century when the area was primarily inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Jobe and the Seminole tribes. In the 1920s, a developer named Joseph V. Reed saw the potential of the region and purchased large tracts of land, envisioning a residential community. He named it Hobe Sound adapted after from the name of the Native American Jobe tribe.

Over the years, Hobe Sound gradually developed, attracting seasonal residents and retirees who were drawn to its natural beauty and serene atmosphere. The construction of the Jupiter Island Bridge in 1928 improved access to the area and spurred further growth. The town has maintained its charm by preserving its natural surroundings and protecting its rich biodiversity. Today, Hobe Sound is known for its pristine beaches, lush landscapes, and a close-knit community that values its history and natural heritage.
